Nearly 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the region, producing powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Locals witnessed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the region.
