Mohamed Salah Offers Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team following the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
