No major competition markets equal footing as effectively as the NFL: it defines their identity. But through 10 weeks in this campaign, this doesn't represent a landscape featuring uniform distribution separating contenders, pretenders, and middle-of-the-pack clubs. It’s one where most of the league is simply adequate.

NFC Clarity

Looking at the NFC side, for the most part, we see clearer definition. Los Angeles and Seattle (each holding 7-2 records) look like the most well-rounded squads across the league, and delivered decisive victories during Sunday's action. Philadelphia at 6-2 notwithstanding their difficulties continue to possess a deeply skilled squad throughout football, similar to Green Bay (five wins, two losses, one tie). Even the Lions (6-3), who have been inconsistent along both lines of scrimmage while managing tension on their coaching staff, have shown they can hammer good teams. For all five, you can still easily put together a Super Bowl path.

AFC Confusion

Over in the AFC, postseason landscape remains completely chaotic. Your four division leaders at this stage: the Colts, Patriots, Broncos (each with 8-2 records) along with Pittsburgh (5-4 record). Consider that carefully. Not the Chiefs. No Bills inclusion. Not the Ravens or Bengals. The usual contenders, featuring the league’s best quarterbacks, possess either obvious team deficiencies or have been hit by injuries.

League Equality Design

To some extent, it’s the league’s ideal. Yet observing this season's top AFC teams in the AFC continues to seem unusual. Aspects of each franchise pass the championship smell test, though not comprehensively. Colts Situation

Currently they're youthful, quick and confident. However, we must acknowledge how soft the Patriots’ schedule has been. They've encountered the least challenging lineup across the NFL, yet vulnerabilities remain. The signal-caller has taken sacks thirty-five times – among the highest totals – including particular impacts he endured during the game proved brutal. Over time, that punishment compounds.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos are eight wins similarly, yet it seems like they're nervously waiting. Bo Nix has performed unevenly, and the offense plodding, with the defense doing most of the responsibility. This development isn't entirely shocking that the Ravens have pulled the gap to just one game, but how rapidly this occurred represents criticism toward Pittsburgh’s inconsistencies. The fact Baltimore began the season 1-5 and currently seem they should win the division speaks volumes regarding the entire AFC.

Traditional Powers

The Ravens' form part among three elite teams – joined by Buffalo and Kansas City – fueled by former MVP signal-callers, who could still create the greatest concern for opponents should they reach postseason. They're the teams everyone hopes to avoid, however, both franchises persistently undermine themselves.

Bills Struggles

A week ago, the Bills were riding high following victory over Kansas City. On Sunday they suffered a particularly discouraging setback during the campaign. They didn't simply fail against Miami; they were embarrassed, losing 30-13 as visitors. It was Miami’s first win over the Bills in several seasons.
