Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
